We are a community initiative in Jersey raising emergency funds for families affected by the earthquake in Venezuela and we are committed to showing clearly where support goes.
Organised by Mariano Antonio Ferreira Correia and volunteer friends in Jersey.

Every donation follows a clear process. We will keep updating this page with figures, decisions and delivery information as the campaign progresses.
Donations are currently collected through the official GoFundMe campaign or as cash donations that will be paid into the cause account.
Funds raised in Jersey are pooled, recorded and tracked openly, with public updates on totals collected and next steps.
Money will be transferred through verified channels so it can safely reach affected families, hospitals and urgent local needs.
The funds raised will support people who truly need urgent help, including affected families and hospitals where assistance is needed most.
Money will only be sent through secure and verified humanitarian, community, family or hospital channels, with checks before any transfer is made.
Aid may be used for urgent family needs and for hospitals or medical centres that can confirm they need support for affected people.
Funds will not be handed to political or government intermediaries. The aim is to reduce risk and make sure help reaches the people and places it is intended for.
Because help was needed quickly, the physical products donated were sold locally through our charity car boot sale and community events in Jersey rather than shipped abroad.
Sending physical goods to Venezuela can be very expensive, slow and difficult to track. Turning those items into money allows the support to move faster, more safely and with better transparency.
The money raised from these sales is deposited into the cause account or added to the official digital fundraising channel. See the Events held section below for what each event raised.

View on Google Maps →Thank you to everyone who came to St Peter Parish Hall on Sunday 12 July. Physical donations that we could not send to Venezuela, such as winter clothing not needed there because of the climate, were sold locally to turn them into funds for the Venezuela relief effort.
A community day built around the Spain vs Portugal World Cup match, bringing football fans together over good beer to raise funds for the Venezuela relief effort. Thank you to everyone who came along and supported the cause.

This project started with a group of friends and volunteers in Jersey, and today it is so much bigger thanks to you. Thank you for trusting us, for donating, for asking how you could help, for coming to the events, for bringing donations to the barber shop and for sharing the campaign. This has only been possible because of this community.
After several very intense weeks of campaigning, and for reasons of time and logistics, the moment has come to gradually close the donation collection. We want to do this calmly and in an orderly way, so we can properly manage everything received so far and continue giving the best possible attention to this final stage.

Digital donations are currently processed securely through GoFundMe. Cash donations and money raised at community events will be paid into the cause account.

The lovely team is collecting on behalf of this campaign, and every penny goes straight into the cause account or the official GoFundMe total. We are grateful for the compassion shown across the Island. As reported locally, Jersey's International Development Minister has indicated that Jersey Overseas Aid is considering allocating up to £250,000 in emergency support — around £100,000 towards Save the Children and £150,000 towards the British Red Cross, both active on the ground. Jersey Overseas Aid has said it is closely monitoring the situation and working with its partners so that any support is timely and reaches those in greatest need. Details are subject to official confirmation, and we will update this page as more information is verified.
